Developing a Customer Base

Tell me something, would you buy a product or service from some one you knew and trusted or a complete stranger? If you are anything like me it would be the first option. So I guess you are asking how it is done. You can do this by using relationship marketing using social networking, YouTube, email, forums or an existing customer.

I can tell you that you will have a far more successful home business selling to a person that you have built a relationship with verse you being a complete stranger. If you have no relationship with them, what is going through their head when you have the buying decision is, can I trust them, will the product or service do what they say it can and can I see value in it.

That is the reason you need to build a relationship with your customer/list all successful home business do this. Once you developed that relationship you can cut through the doubt. Giving your customers, who are ready to buy from you no reason to have any negative feeling about the decision to buy? This can also lead into repeat sales and if you decide to promote a new product or service to develop multiple streams of income. Your customer base will be more that willing to check out your product.

You have many avenues that you can tap into to start developing a customer base. For instance, you can post comments on You Tube about the content in the videos and register to that particular channel. It won't be long before people start to recognizing your name and clicking on your channel to see what you have to say. If they like what they see they will register with your channel and you have just gained another place your information will be shown and that person is now starting to get to know you.

Another way to build a customer base is to build a mailing list. There are so many methods you could use to collect opt in's to your list. But the best way is to give value and in return they give you their email detail. One word of warning you must be giving good quality stuff i.e. ebooks, special reports or software that would be helpful in your particular niche otherwise this strategy will not work. It's a great incentive for your prospect to opt in and straight away you are building trust.

I have touch on this already but your current customer base, which is often forgotten about. If you bought a product from this particular person and he/she gave you good service and the product was great, the question is would you buy from he/she again in the future? I do not know about you I would. So remember this when a customer has given you their hard earn money, that is not the end of the contract because by keeping in touch with them and developing a prosperous relationship with he/she, you will have a lifetime source of income.

Imagine if you had 10000 customers and only 1% bought at any one time and the product retailed at £97.00. You do the math, but that's not bad money considering their already in your list. It is vital to build a customer base every successful home business needs to do this because it's simple and saves a lot of time and effort.
