Imagine that a successful entrepreneur was asked to be the commencement speaker at a prestigious business school's graduation. What would he say? "I want to be the first to congratulate you and to tell you that you are facing the worst job market in many years."
How many of these graduates have jobs lined up? Would the speaker touch upon their student loans and their ability to repay them during this economic downturn? Or maybe he'd focus on the years they put in to get their education. Could uplifting and inspirational words help to quell the fear of not having employment opportunities that they were expecting when they entered school? How about, "sorry, employers are just not hiring."
Not knowing what else to do, some of these graduates might seek higher degrees and others may take menial jobs that they are over qualified for. Either of these choices can cost them dearly. As bleak as this sounds if the business school approached a successful Internet entrepreneur to be a commencement speaker the speech might go a little differently.
The speaker would congratulate them on their finishing their formal education at one of the most exciting times in the history of business. The power of the Internet and how fortunes are being made without ever having to go to an office would be a primary topic. Direct sales would be explained although many of the audience would be quite familiar with the concept. They would already know that the Internet reaches about a billion people all over the globe.
They'd be advised to look at the Internet and get the information that will lead them to a successful online business. Yes, there would be additional education, but at a fraction of the cost of sitting in a classroom. They'd be working from home. They'd be in charge of their own time. But since they are graduates they've proved they can do what is necessary to complete the work. He'd tell them there are good companies to advise them from a tentative beginning to the happy ending of having their online marketing business up and running.
There's a fee for this kind of help, and you don't need to be a graduate of the best business school to get it. You only need to do your research and find a company that's appropriate and affordable for you.
Alas, more homework. Go to your computer and do the research. Stay with it and you can be assured you will find success in direct sales.
